I was lucky enough to attend some events in Davos this year and was struck by the general sense of anxiety and gloom about the future. Almost everyone talked of the challenges facing the world in the light of Brexit and Donald Trump.
There was, however, one group who were optimistic about Brexit.
Frankfurt sees Brexit as a great opportunity to attract financial institutions and international business to the region of Frankfurt-Rhein-Main. They feel that they are well-placed in the competition against Dublin and Paris.
I find their optimism both realistic and chilling as I watch London and Britain face such an uncertain future post-Brexit.
